Swaras (literal English translation: "The seven notes of the scale") en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swara is a semi classical pop/rock band from Toronto, Canada, formed in June 2009 by Asad Q. who is also the lead vocalist and composer of the band's music.

Influenced by the eastern and western maestros of music like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Habib Wali Mohammad, Kishore Kumar, Vital Signs, Junoon, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Abbas Premjee, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Tony Iommi, Metallica, Tool, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Sting, U2, Bryan Adams, Lenny Kravitz & Matt Dusk's music.

Swaras permanent members’ consists of Asad Q. and Hassan Bokhari who is the lead guitarist, composer and music arranger of the band.
